Management Training in Manufacturing

This is a training programme for those in manufacturing companies who want to grow their careers and acquire broad knowledge about managing the enterprise.

The programme aims at raising the level of productivity, promoting access to, and use of, state of the art technology, and enabling companies to produce according to international standards.

It offers a series of 8 modules, covering the key skills areas in managing and enhancing the competitiveness of a manufacturing business. The selection of modules for each company is flexible, and can be spread out over an agreed time frame.

The aim is to train people with management or supervisory experience of at least a year, in a broad range of disciplines. Learners should be numerate, literate and possess basic business skills at NQF level 4.

The programme is based on the Experiential Learning Methodology, by which learners accumulate knowledge through learning from the practical manufacturing experiences of others. The training is case study-based, and driven by practical exercises and assignments. Training is action-oriented by using techniques as group work, structured learning exercises, and field work.

The programme has been aligned to the standards making up the FET Management in Manufacturing qualification at NQF level 4, and has been submitted to the Merseta for accreditation.
