Understanding Variations - Keeping Your Finger on the Pulse of Quality
Course Outcomes
This course is designed for a target audience of team leaders / operational personnel seeking a more advanced understanding of SPC in quality control. It supports initiatives in organisations accredited with ISO9000 or other international quality standards and those organisations driving a “Lean” business process of quality at the source. It provides many practical examples on how to use statistical process control in meeting and exceeding customer requirements. Should your organization be thinking about Six Sigma implementation, the course content will be more than adequate to support this initiative.
On completion of the course participants will be able to:
Use Attribute and Variable (qualitative and quantative data) to understand the nature of variation and make the data more visual for deciding whether a process is in control or not, and make decisions based on the data; use histograms for examining the distribution of variables; use box plots to identify differences in variation, spread and median values; carry out a capability analysis of C p, C pk, Pp and Ppk to determine the process capability; gain an insight into FMEA for analysing where to focus in problem solving.
Use is made of Microsoft ® EXCEL Statistical tools to manipulate and plot data.
